My wife and I have been photographing weddings for a while now and I thought it might be a good idea to write a blog post on our favorite wedding venues in Connecticut. Full disclaimer, my first intention for this blog was to help increase my SEO, but as I dove deeper into selecting my top pics it became clear to me that this was going to become a super helpful resource for future brides and grooms. Some venues are rural and open with lots of space to play with while others are more urban with unique spaces that have more city vibes. So no matter what feel you are going for on your day, Connecticut has so many great venues to explore. In no particular order, here are (in my opinion) the top 10 wedding venues in Connecticut.

Why do I like Lion Rock? The landscape is absolutely stunning! In my opinion, Lion Rock has the most beautiful mountain views in Connecticut. If your looking for a venue with a more rustic feel but also very elegant then Lion Rock Farm is the perfect fit.

Why do I like Bill Millers? This FAMILY IS THE BEST! Yes, it is family owned and if you want to feel welcome and at home this is the place for you. Working at Bill Millers Castle is literally like photographing in your own backyard. The grounds are beautiful and so well maintained and the castle itself is about as unique and charming as you can get. Bill Millers Castle is the perfect Connecticut venue for couples who want something truly unique with all of the comforts of home.

Why do I like the Smith Farm? Smith Farm Gardens is the outdoor wedding venue of your dreams. With its magical and elegant “outdoor rooms” couples have so many options to have the garden wedding of their dreams. The grounds are a great mixture of gardens and natural woods.

Why do I like the City Hall? Although we know this is not technically a venue we had to include it as it is one of our favorites. Hartford City Hall is a great place to have a small ceremony as its interior and exterior architecture creates an incredible backdrop. Whenever we photograph at city hall it feels a bit like being in Grand Central Station. There are so many little and grand spaces to photograph both inside and out. For couples looking for either a quick stop to take some stunning photos or just an intimate ceremony for two, Hartford City Hall is the perfect location. Only one thing to note, you need a permit but it is so worth it!
